The drawing was kind of yellow, as were the mats that sat on top of it. When we asked how long she had had it, she said about 20 years. She really loved it and wanted us to reframe it. As we removed the mat to replace it, we could see the beautiful colored mat underneath that had not been exposed to UV lights. Twenty years is a long time, but when the mats that are used are not acid free, and the glass is not UV protectant, over time the color changes and is not beautiful like the original art or photography that we purchased or had printed.

Framing Posters
Posters have a special place in our hearts. Remember when we were teenagers and collected posters, having them on all 4 walls in our bedrooms? My husband loves the Ramones. A couple of years ago I went into our local poster store and asked if they had any Ramones posters. They had one that was old and had a small tear in it, but I knew he would love it. It had been protected in a closed tube, so it was not exposed to light. When we framed that poster (not so inexpensive I might add because it was a limited edition) he was over the moon! We used museum glass so there would be no glare, and a simple frame to show off the poster. This was a BIG WIN!
